About SWA

Help improve the world around

Nearly two decades ago a few souls gathered together for a good reason: to dedicate their emotions, time, resources and skills to reaching out to those in need, irrespective of caste, creed and colour.

1987Social Workers Association was formed

Our belief

One belief, many lives touched

Today SWA is touching the lives of several needy women, children and families with a single belief: help improve the world around.

SWA is an apex association of individuals and organisations working in the field of social work. We act as a representative body at various forums, as a mouthpiece for the issues our members face in the community, and as a watchdog for the norms, acts and rules that shape the lives of the people we serve.

We are a non-revenue, non-profit organisation. Our volunteers work on a zero-profit basis and everything we do depends on compassionate people who choose to support us.

Objectives

Let's make things better

SWA was founded on certain defining principles. To translate noble thoughts into reality, these objectives were set.

Support families with no source of income by providing food, clothes and other items needed in daily life.

Provide financial assistance to the weaker sections of society, especially the old aged, orphans and disabled women.

Provide financial assistance to skilled people who want to earn their livelihood but are held back by lack of resources.

Provide free medical treatment to financially challenged people.

Provide free education to children below fourteen years.

Provide career counselling and employment assistance to youth from weaker sections so they can carve their future.

How SWA functions

Rigorous on the ground, transparent with every donor

Transparency is how we build resilient relationships with the people who fund our work. We hold this value through sound auditing practices and by giving donors and volunteers full access to any information they need and seek.

A rigorous survey

Our task force of dedicated volunteers performs a rigorous analysis of slum areas in Delhi NCR and identifies the people and families living in extreme poverty.

Only the deserving

SWA ensures that only deserving people get aid and support, so the money our donors give is put to the best possible use. Volunteers work on a zero-profit basis.

Monthly expense details

Every donor receives monthly financial expense details. Donors also occasionally visit the people and families they support to see the rightful usage of their money for themselves.
