SWA gives concerned individuals the opportunity to contribute, on a volunteer basis, to the social welfare programmes, events and activities organised by SWA and its members.
Four ways to give your time
Volunteers are the task force behind everything SWA does. They survey slum areas, verify cases and run the programmes. All of it on a zero-profit basis.
Field verification
Visit families referred by member NGOs or found in the slum survey, and file a short report with photographs.
Ration and relief drives
Help pack and deliver the monthly ration to the 24 families on SWA's list, and join relief drives when they are organised.
Education and skills
Tutor children below fourteen, or share a trade or skill with youth from weaker sections who are looking for work.
Events and outreach
Support the seminars, symposia, exhibitions and media discussions organised by SWA and its members.
The people who keep SWA honest
Before a donor supports a family, an SWA volunteer visits, meets the family and confirms the need. Field associates are given a volunteer login to submit their verification reports through the SWA portal.
