Six women from slum clusters in Delhi NCR received sewing machines from SWA this week. Each of them had completed a tailoring course and each case was verified by an SWA volunteer before the machine was handed over.
Why a machine, not cash
A machine is a permanent asset. With it, a skilled woman can take stitching orders from her neighbourhood, earn every month and meet her family's daily expenses without depending on anyone.
